In 180th BS flew 250 combat hours in 32 missions as a B-17 pilot awarded Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with Four Oak Leaf Clusters and campaign ribbons representing the Northern France, Central Europe and Normandy theaters of operation. Flew the B-26 until 1958. Formed the 139th Airlift Wing (AMC) at Rosecrans Air National Guard Base in Saint Joseph, MO. Was made Base Commander and Colonel. Served in WWII and Korean Conflict.
